Super Sweet TB/Shire Cross
|
Gelding, Black with two hind quarter socks, 17H, Foaled in 2005, turns 8 yo in 2013. Sired by Tribal Rule, son of Storm Cat and great great grandson of Secretariat. Currently lives in northern California, close to Danville. Knights Cross, or barn name, Moose, is a gentle giant that is looking for a new partner, because his current Moms (twin sisters) have moved to Scotland for veterinary school. For the past 18 months we have had Moose in a jumping training program. While he has the aptitude to jump, he does not seem to enjoy being in such a strict work environment. This big boy excels with more variety in his schedule, and especially desires to develop a partnership with his owner.
He was trained with a foundation in natural horsemanship groundwork games and exercises, along with some basic dressage, which stimulate his mind and relationship with his handler. He is looking for a new home, where he can be loved, exercised regularly, and challenged in a FUN and exciting environment. He is very athletic, brave, solid, trustworthy and willing to perform, once he has established a bond of trust with his rider. He may take a few rides to become acquainted with you and show his true potential, but the journey of getting to know this horse is a truly worthwhile and rewarding one. He would do best with a strong, patient, confident rider, who is looking for a project to develop a relationship with. He does not do well in box stalls, as his primary residence, because he needs at least a stall with paddock to live comfortably. He loves trails, trying new things, long-lining, and is responsive to work with on the ground. Knight's Cross has a sound start as a well rounded horse, and is ready to move on to someone who is looking for a majestic horse with lots to offer. Owner is currently asking $10,000- however first and foremost is looking for just the right home and family for this amazing horse. Please feel free to call Janet with any questions, (925) 899-4339. |
VIDEO...
SOME NEW FOOTAGE! Showing a little more of Knight's Cross/Moose's disposition and personality- while tacking, warming up and arena riding, out on the trails, untacking, etc. Enjoy!
These two video segments below are a bit outdated. They were taken when he was with his first jumping trainer, over a year ago. (Apologies for the portions where the video is being taken from behind some jumps, where some of the lead changing/flatwork is a little hard to see.) The first video was taken during one of his workouts at his old stable, and the second is of him at his first show doing a "Baby Green Hunters Class."
